Civil Division

County Representation

The Civil Division acts as legal counsel for all County Departments, non-elected County Boards, and the County Commissioners. The Civil Division represents the County in civil lawsuits and administrative hearings, and provides written legal opinions upon request from County officers. The Division reviews contracts, leases, easements, personnel policies, public records requests, land use regulations, zoning violations and property assessments on behalf of the County. The Division also works in conjunction with the Wyoming Department of Labor for enforcement of unpaid wage claims.

Please note that the Civil Division is prohibited from representing individuals or giving legal advice to members of the public by the Wyoming Rules of Professional Conduct.
